A glance at the record books for the Kenyon Midget Series shows that Kyle O'Gara has won 15 feature events. O'Gara is ranked second on the all-time list only bested by Dameron Taylor, but now his nephew Danny is joining the series.

Danny O'Gara is the son of former IndyCar competitor Sarah Fisher and her husband, Andy. Danny O'Gara, 11, comes to the Kenyon Midget Series with an impressive racing resume in karts and the Lucas Oil School of Racing formula car winning twice.

“It was a good foundation to build off of,” Kyle O'Gara said of the Kenyon Midget Series. “I kind of went backwards on the racing ladder. I had raced some pavement Midgets and then moved to Sprint Cars and then turned to the Kenyon Midget Series.”

Kyle said Danny's advancement is the next generation in racing of the O'Gara family. “The family has deep roots in racing,” he said. “Danny is a national karting champion and taking the next step. It will be cool to see how he does.”

Danny O'Gara won't start competing with the Kenyon Midget Series until the June race at the Toledo and Anderson Speedways after he reaches his 12th birthday.

Danny has been racing since the age of 3. “I'm looking 100% at climbing into a Kenyon Midget,” he said. “Been racing in the Lucas Oil racing school and looking to climb the ranks.”

Danny said his uncle, Kyle, was at their first test in a Kenyon Midget at Anderson Speedway where he was turning competitive laps in the 12.6-second range.

“Our plan is to run the rest of the season after June,” he said.

O'Gara said he is looking forward to competing the first time on a dirt oval when the series visits Lincoln Park Speedway.

“I'm looking forward to the year,” he said. “My family has taught me everything I know right now. Always my dream to race since I started,” Danny said. “I want to race in IndyCar.”

He would like to eventually race in a Sprint Car and to compete in the Unified Group Services Little 500.

“I watched my uncle Kyle,” Danny said of the Little 500. “He was so close to winning last year.”
