In competing for a second full-time season with the Kenyon Midget Series, Brian Richardson is hoping to be more consistent.
Richardson could be considered an “old school” racer; not only driving the car at the events but doing most of the preparation work on his Kenyon Midget. “I enjoy the mechanical side or racing,” he said. “Turning the wrenches and working on how to set up the car at each track.”
In his rookie season Richardson finished in tenth in the overall point standings with three top ten finishes at Anderson, Owosso and a career best eighth at the Paragon dirt track.
“It was an up and down year,” Richardson said of the 2025 season. “I started to figure some stuff out when it came to set-ups. I used a base line set-up at all the tracks at first and then started tweaking it,” he explained.
Richardson is excited about the two races this year at the Lincoln Park dirt oval.
He liked running the Owosso oval and is absolutely looking forward to the return visit. “It's a fun track,” Richardson said.
With the races at Anderson Speedway, including the season opening event in April, Richardson said the high banked quarter-mile oval is a “different animal”. “I'm starting to figure it out,” he said. “ I'm getting closer on the set-up at that track.”
Richardson said he is excited about the new season with new drivers and a higher car count expected.
“Last year I finished tenth in the points,” he said. “I want to be more consistent. Having notes on the return tracks will definitely help.”
