Taylor looking to repeat at Owosso

Four-time Kenyon Midget champion Dameron Taylor is hoping to repeat his 2025 win at Owosso Speedway, but he will have to hold off two of the series hottest drivers. Rookie of the year contender Danny O'Gara is coming off a third place finish at Anderson Speedway and the victory in only his second start at the Indianapolis Speedrome.

Point leader Ayrton Houk has scored wins this year at Anderson and Lincoln Park Speedway and has finished all five races on the podium.

Houk, driving the Binkley's Kitchen and Bar entry has set fast time three times, won three heat races and took home hard charger honors once. “I'm excited to get back there,” he said of Owosso. “We were definitely fast last year, just had some electrical troubles. All is sorted now and I'm excited to show what we can do,” he said.

Taylor currently fifth in the point standings, said he's confident in the return visit to Owosso. “With a great performance last time and now a new engine for this time,” he said. “We hope we are strong when we show up after a mediocre finish at the Speedrome.”

Kyle Sheard finished third a year ago at the Michigan track and is currently fourth in the point standings. “I feel pretty confident,” he said. “Just trying to take what we had last year and build off of it.”

Andrew Wall set the qualifying mark last year at 15.411-seconds.

Two drivers are returning to action this weekend. Jackson Macenko, a regular on the 500 Sprint Car Tour will be doing double duty at Owosso and will be making his first Kenyon Midget start since 2023.

Landon Brown, a two-time winner a year ago, is returning after making two starts with the ARCA Menard Series.
