When rookie and veteran competitors prepare for the Kenyon Midget Series, the driver to beat is long-time competitor Dameron Taylor. The Indianapolis native captured the Redline Ace rookie of the year honors in 2012 and then added championships in 2017, 2018 and 2022. Taylor recorded his four title this year. No other competitor has more than one Kenyon Midget championship.

He has won a leading 38 feature races and scored five victories in both 2024 and 2025.

During the 2025 campaign, Taylor captured K&K Marketing fast qualifier honors twice, took home two KRJ Racing Products heat wins and an Advanced Racing Suspensions Hard Charger award.

Taylor won the opening two races at the Sportsdrome and Anderson Speedway and added a second place at the Indianapolis Speedrome.

He finished 16th at Paragon Speedway which opened the door for a challenge from Isaac Johnson for the point lead. But Taylor rebounded with a win in the Don and Mel Kenyon Classic at Anderson Speedway and never finished outside of the top ten in the final nine events.

Going into the final two races, Taylor thought the fourth championship was within his grasp and was more interested in trying to reach the 40 feature win mark.

“There were a couple of years when I didn't run the full schedule or any at all,” Taylor said. “I've always seemed to have decent runs with the series.”

He said anytime he ran a full season with the Kenyon Midget Series he was able to finish in the top three in the point standings.

Of the 38 race wins, Taylor said the victories in the Don and Mel Kenyon Classic are the ones that stand out in his mind. “That race is to recognize them and everything they've done to make the series grow,” he said.

Taylor said in 2026 he is planning to concentrate on running a full-size midget at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park and a winged sprint car.

“I will do some Kenyon racing too,” he said. “May run the entire season, you never know.”
